Spa Water Chemistry - Testing & Balancing
It is imperative to keep your spa chemically balanced. A spa that isn't properly balanced can not only be unhealthy, but can cause your spa equipment to fail and void your warranty.
Test a minimum of weekly, making sure you are using a product that will test for chlorine or bromine, pH, alkalinity and calcium hardness.

"Balanced" spa water means that your pH, alkalinity and calcium hardness are within proper range.
"Sanitation" is also a very important part of water balancing. Keep a consistent sanitizer (chlorine or bromine) level in your spa.
Make sure to use a spa shock-oxidizer after every use to kill bacteria and enhanced shock weekly to maintain.
Test your water 2 - 4 times weekly (and before use) to stay within the proper ranges as outlined below:
Chlorine: 1.0 - 3.0 ppm
Bromine: 2.0 - 4.0 ppm
pH 7.4 - 7.6
Total Alkalinity 80 - 120 ppm
Calcium Hardness 150 - 250 ppm
